"give me a tingle"

Yes this is something they actually say in Australia... I was at Bondi Beach today (which was beautiful)  and some guy behind us said this on the phone. Apparentally "give me a tingle" means "give me a call"  so wierd and funny! The past few days have been crazy busy! I survived my first week of classes! yayyy! It doesn't seem like it is going to be that bad of a semester. I just hope it doesn't fly by! I have come to realize that having a 4 hour practical on a friday is so inconvenient! I now have to try to change it for my surf weekend and the Great Barrier Reef trips that i am going on. Annoying but the teacher is pretty understanding since the trip are not under my control but through my study abroad program. Wednesday night was back to school night at the Ranch. This is probably going to be our place to go every wednesday! Dressing up for themed nights has become my new favorite thing! Thursday night a few people went to UBar which is the bar on campus. It was not what i was expecting at all. It was literally the whole top floor of the Hub(which is where the food court and bookstore and other offices are) It was so much fun and there was something for everyone. If you wanted to just hang around the bar you could, or dance or sit outside or even play pool! Clearly the pub on the SAC campus needs to be updated to be like UBar! Friday after i got out of my prac we went into the city to the Scary Canery. It was pretty fun and we had free drink cards so overall it was a pretty successful night. Today we went to Bondi Beach which is now my new favorite place. We packed our lunches so we had a cute little picnic on the beach. The water was freezing so we only felt it then went back to our towels to lay out in the sun. Like the weather said it got cloudy so we packed up our towels and walked around in the little shops. It reminded me of being at Hampton Beach with the boardwalk. I bought a cute bracelet, a stuffed animal kangaroo and a sweatshirt! (everyone knows that i have an obsession with them!) We had the best burritos for dinner in the mall near Bondi Junction. It was such a great day out!
I have realized that i HATE the public transportation system here in Sydney. Don't get me wrong, it is really cool that the trains have 3 floors but thats about all that it has going for it. It costs way to much to get on the train. I miss Boston and only paying less than $2 to go anywhere on the T. You have to pay for exactally what stop you are getting off at and if you get off at the wrong stop... you cant get out of the station. You have to put in your ticket to be able to get out! And trains don't run all the time like they do in Boston! If you miss the train.. .well you are waiting at least 15-20 mins for the next one. Certain train stations close early so when you are out in the city forget trying to stay out past like 1am. And today... The station at Macquarie was closed for maintance.. So we had to take a bus to another train station. Yeah so I love Sydney I just hate their transportation system!
